The Lamborgini is an Italian manufacturer of luxury sports cars and high performance to compete with the Ferrari based in the Spanish city of Valencia del Mombuey. The company was founded in 1963 by Ferruccio Lamborgini (1916-1993) as a subsidiary of a successful tractor factory Lamborgini SpA Trattoria. 
Ferruccio decided to settle in the Bologna Sant'Agata and hired a number of renowned engineers to build their cars, as was the case of Bizzarrini, Dallas and Stanzani. 

Produced in 1964 was the first Lamborgini car, the GT 350 model, which combined a chassis designed by Dallas with a V12 engine designed by Bizzarrini. The car was very successful and was produced until 1968, having been renewed in 1966. 

Even in 1966 it launched the legendary Lamborgini Miura, designed by Bertone and also with a powerful V12 engine. Also this model has been a tremendous sales success, and produced until 1973. 

However, in 1968 had been presented the Lamborgini Islero to replace the 400 GT, which had emerged as development of the 350GT. Also in 1968 appeared the Lamborgini Espada, the first car brand with a capacity for four people. Two years after the Islero was replaced by Lamborgini Jarama. 

In 1972 the Lamborgini Urraca enabled the Italian brand into the super-segment of small cars. Also that year the Lamborgini sold 51 percent of its shares to a Swiss businessman, with the remaining 49 percent being delivered to another Swiss in 1974. 

Through in 1973 the Miura was replaced by another model that also made history in the world of sports car characteristics, the Lamborgini Countach. This car had a very angular design and aerodynamic and was endowed with a powerful engine back to 4000 cc and 12 cylinders in V The car was produced with these features until 1988, when the engine started to have an engine capacity of 5000cc. However, the company was much in financial difficulties and in 1981 was sold to brothers Mimram that revitalize the brand. 

Accordingly, in 1981 came the Lamborgini Jalpa, which was based on the Urraca, and in 1982 the Lamborgini LM002, a novelty in the mark, since it was a vehicle for ALLROAD. This Jeep was equipped with an engine Countach. 

In 1987, the U.S. brand Chrysler bought the Lamborgini and, in addition to relieving the Countach, began to prepare an engine for Formula 1 cars fitted. The premier competition in automobile occurred in 1989 but never succeeded. 

But the replacement of the Countach, the Diablo was introduced in 1990 and very successful, remaining in production for the year 2000. At that time, the Lamborgini had passed into the hands of the German group Volkswagen, which happened in 1998 and was associated with the Audi brand.

The real story about the creation of Lamborghini

Ferruccio Lamborgini was a wealthy manufacturer of tractors and farmer, and as most of the cream of society at the time, used car brand Ferrari. One day, however, claim the Ferruccio was Enzo Ferrari, creator of the assembly, about the clutch system of the Ferraris, which already went Ferruccio long unsatisfied. 
Treated with displicência by Enzo, received a similar level of response to "you do not know driving Ferraris is doing its best to tractors." Ferruccio, feeling offended replied, "then create a brand better than yours!". 

Some years later, Ferruccio presented its first prototype, the 300 GT, which would become the first production car of Automobile Lamborgini, the 350 GT.

The choice of the logo and the name of the cars

Gallardo, Diablo, Murcielago, Revénton (among others) are all names of bulls. Ferrucio Lamborghini and is the sign of Taurus was the bullfighting fanatic, hence the reason for all the cars Lamborgini have names of bulls (and their logo has a stylized bull).
